Royalty

Youth who exhibit at the Meigs County Fair are eligible to run for Meigs County Fair Royalty. Each contestant must be between the ages of 16 and 19 years of age as of January 1 of the same year as the contest to run for King and Queen. The age for Livestock Prince and Princess is 9 to 15 years.

Ohio 4-H Achievement Record

Older members (14 years and older) are eligible to complete the Ohio 4-H Achievement Record to be selected to represent Meigs County at leadership camp, Sea camp, Buckeye Leadership Workshop, and Citizenship Washington Focus, as well as state achievement awards. Though, in Meigs County, we accept and award on the county-level for ALL ages. Due mid-January.

Meigs County 4-H Scholarships

Scholarships are open to all graduating seniors enrolled in the Meigs County 4-H program. To apply, 4-H members must complete the Ohio Achievement Record and return to the OSU Extension office by mid-February.

Meigs County 4-H’ers of the Year

An award that recognizes a 4-H member(s) for their involvement in the Meigs County 4-H Program and their participation in 4-H club, county, district, state, national and international events and activities. The award is meant to honor a 4-H member(s) for their performance, dedication, and passion for the 4-H program, and is presented to members who have shown growth and excellence in projects, leadership, citizenship, public speaking, and overall participation in 4-H learning experiences. The Meigs County 4-H’er of the Year is the highest 4-H Award an individual member can receive at the county level. Apply by submitting your Ohio 4-H Achievement Award Application.

Ohio 4-H Conference and Teen Recognition Luncheon

All 4-H teens are invited to attend this one-day workshop where they can choose from over 100 sessions designed to improve their skills. In addition, statewide teen award winners will be recognized at a special luncheon. At this luncheon, winners of the Ohio 4-H Teen Hall of Fame, Outstanding Teen of the Year, and Ohio 4-H Achievement Awards will be recognized. This conference is held each year in March and award applications are due December 1 of the current year. Conference registrations are usually due in February.

Ohio 4-H Teen Leadership Council

The Ohio 4-H Teen Leadership Council (TLC) is a statewide group of 4-H teens and young 4-H alumni that provides a youth stakeholder perspective in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Ohio 4-H programming. In this process, council members develop knowledge, skills, attitudes, and aspirations needed for future success. Council members share advice and recommendations to 4-H professionals to improve, strengthen, and expand the Ohio 4-H program. Applications due in August.

4-H Event Youth Assistant

Developed to provide youth opportunities to help with 4-H events during the Ohio State Fair each year, while enhancing leadership skills and being involved in the State 4-H Program. Youth ages 13-18 with at least one year of experience in 4-H are invited to apply. They are expected to work a minimum of three events during the Ohio State Fair. Applications are due May 15.

Ohio State Fair Junior Fair Board

Made up of our great state's best and brightest young leaders, hand-picked to contribute to the success of the Ohio State Fair each year. Selected to represent their respective youth organizations, these students serve on behalf of thousands of students across Ohio. As ambassadors for 4-H, FFA, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Farm Bureau, FCCLA, Grange and Tech Ed, they can share their experiences and emphasize the value of the Junior Fair with patrons throughout the 12 days of the Fair.
