A gift to Extension is a gift to Ohio State University

Extension has been around for a long time - nearly 100 years! From the first 4-H Clubs in Meigs County in the early 1900's Extension has deep roots in Meigs county and has impacted many lives over the years. Although many people know Extension - many do not always relate Extension to Ohio State University. It wasn't until the late 1980's that OSU President E. Gordon Gee helped the public better understand Extension by simply changing the name from "Ohio Cooperative Extension Service" to "Ohio State University Extension." Not only do we use "Ohio State" as part of our name - but we are indeed a part of Ohio State University. Just like campus faculty teach classes to college students and campus researchers find solutions to society's problems - Extension Staff serve as the link between campus and the citizens of Ohio. Extension does everything from training volunteers to teaching classes to answering questions even help to solve community problems. So, as you think about your relationship with Ohio State - be sure to remember Ohio State University Extension. If you currently give to Ohio State - you can simply earmark those funds to benefit your friends, family and neighbors right here in Meigs County. You can even enjoy privileges like the opportunity to purchase OSU Football tickets, campus gatherings, tax deductibility (as allowed by law) and other OSU activities.
